In this episode, we visited the production facilities of Astrosib, one of the few Russian manufacturers of professional telescopes and observatories. Company director Anton Savelyev personally gave us a tour and explained how the half-meter-diameter telescopes are constructed, why the foundation is needed not for weight but to combat vibrations, and how the All Sky Dome differs from all others.

What you'll learn from this video:

— What professional telescope production looks like from the inside
— Why the Ural Mars telescope will operate using the same optical design as Hubble
— How the observatory dome accommodates 12 to 16 people and transforms into an open-air planetarium
— Why visual observation is completely different from a photograph on a monitor
— What is Ural Mars and our Mars Base
